SPRING

NEWS LETTER 2011

Staff Update

Registrar Our new Registrar (a fully qualified doctor gaining experience in general practice) is now Dr Sarah Osborne. She was born in Sheffield, and trained at Leeds and she has worked in York and Hull hospitals.. Hobbies include running – she is currently training for her first half marathon, travelling, and is an avid supporter of Sheffield United.

Same day appointments

Same day appointments are always available if you feel it is urgent that you see a doctor. The receptionist will take some details and arrange for a doctor to ring you back. You will always be able to talk to a doctor, and if you need an appointment the doctor will arrange this for you.

NEW COMPUTER SYSTEM

The practice is commencing an upgrade to System One, a new computer system.

Disruption to services

11th – 15th July 2011
The surgery will be running a reduced service whilst information is transferred from the old system to the new system.

Prescriptions

Between 11th – 15th July only URGENT prescriptions will be issued. Repeat prescriptions requests will be issued early to ensure patients are not without regular medication.

On line Service

Booking appointments and prescription service will be closed during this week and possibly the week prior to ensure appointments are not lost during transfer.

Patients will need to access a new site when the On-line service becomes available.

Allow extra time

During this time and in the following weeks please allow extra time for requests whilst staff become familiar with this system. Inevitably there will be some delays as we all learn to use the new system but we hope this new computer system will help us look after patients and their medical information more efficiently and securely.
